Cardiff’s Half Marathon

02nd October * 1 min read

It was great to see so many of our past and current students today at Cardiff’s half marathon. Many were doing it for themselves, for enjoyment and for the fun. Others were doing it for charities or equally as important causes such as fundraising for sports clubs etc. At Fitness HQ we do our best to support local charities and sports clubs and have recently sponsored a local Cheshire rugby club, Christleton RFC.

We often attend events such as the Cardiff half marathon and also the Dublin marathon to show our support and also to help raise the awareness of these events. After all, these events are only possible because groups of people give up their free time and are committed to giving something back to the city.

Today was extra special for us, like I mentioned earlier we met up with past students who have completed our Personal Trainer Course in Cardiff that were not only completing the half marathon or the first, time but also with a number of their clients. Events such as these help give you as a personal trainer and your client direction and focus.

The purpose of today’s blog is to outline the importance of events such as these; half marathons, race for life, open triathlons and even swimming events are great ways of encouraging people to become active and to try new sports. As well as this, events such as these offer a great social scene and also the opportunity to make new friends.

Well done to everyone who completed the half marathon in Cardiff today and best of luck with the rest of your fitness journey.
